Case Study on developing a website for the HeatPumps online store

Business niche: Selling heat pumps and installing heating systems for homes, providing heat in the houses

Region: Latvia (further scaling to European countries is possible)

Challenge: developing your own website has become relevant and necessary for scaling business and attracting new customers.

Objective: creation of an online store website on the WordPress CMS, with the development of the structure and individual design, ensuring the website’s adaptability for mobile devices.

Work Completed:

  • Development of the website structure and design concept
  • Development of an online calculator for calculating the required power of the heat pump
  • Convenient and clear filtering of goods in the catalog
  • Development of an Ecommerce project on CMS WordPress from scratch
  • Adaptive website layout (mobile devices, tablets, desktop)
  • Implementation of two language versions on the website
  • Adaptation of the administrative panel for easy management
  • Creation of instructions for using the website
  • Connecting analytics to the website

The website was created as an online store with the possibility of paying for goods by bank transfer. At the stage of website development, online payments were not connected, as the specifics of product selection are quite complex, and usually the client needs advice on installation, exact cost and characteristics.

Development of an online calculator on the website

The online calculator was created for the convenience of calculating the heat pump capacity, for which the client needs to take 3 steps: select the area of the house, energy efficiency and click on the capacity calculation. This helps the customer to navigate the choice more easily and independently consider the heat pump options on the website that may be suitable for them.

Development of the Home Page

The main goal was to develop a user-friendly website structure. The homepage should provide visitors with all the general information about the company’s advantages and the heat pumps offered, emphasizing their benefits and functionality. A simple and user-friendly interface helps users to quickly navigate the website and get the necessary data.

The home page is structured to present the company’s advantages and products in the most effective way. Below the main banner, there are information blocks that briefly describe the company’s key advantages. These blocks are accompanied by icons that visually emphasize the strengths of cooperation with the company. In particular, it is emphasized that the company is the official representative of a well-known brand of heat pump manufacturer in Latvia.

The main focus of the homepage is on the benefits of ordering products from this particular company. Visitors can find guarantees, information about partners and popular products. The main product – a heat pump – is presented in the form of a selling banner that emphasizes all the benefits of buying heating equipment.

The bottom of the page contains contact information and a form for a free consultation. Users can leave a request or question, as well as find the company’s main contact details, such as phone number, address and email.

Implementation of the catalog on the website and filtering

The heat pump catalog is presented as a list of products with images, short descriptions and prices. Each product has a separate card that contains basic information about the product, as well as the ability to go to a separate internal page for more detailed information. All products are arranged in a logical structure, which allows users to easily navigate the assortment. The catalog’s intuitive interface makes it easy to browse and select products.

Product navigation. The page provides filters that allow users to select products based on certain parameters, such as manufacturer, capacity, pump type and price. The filtering function allows users to efficiently find the products they need, which improves the overall user experience.

Product page development

When developing each product page, we visually emphasized the advantages of the products: we used icons that help users to quickly and easily see the main advantages, manufacturer, power, energy efficiency class, temperature and other characteristics that will help a potential customer to choose a product.

Call-to-action buttons and forms on the website

To engage customers more actively and focus on the main actions on the website, we have implemented the following call-to-action buttons:

  • Button with the text “Learn more”: on the home page, it redirects visitors to a page with detailed information about heat pumps.
  • Request a call: allows you to quickly contact the company for advice.
  • B2B button: for customers who want to become partners or buy equipment for business.
  • Select a pump model: on the home page for easy selection of heat pumps.
  • Free Consultation Form: to get expert advice for free.
  • Request a calculation form: with the ability to upload your project to get an accurate calculation.

Creating a website user manual

To facilitate the work of website administration for our client and his managers, we have prepared a detailed manual that includes the basic points of management. It contains the steps required to administer the website: adding new products, changing prices, creating promotions, viewing placed orders and changing order status.

Results:

The website has a clear and logical structure that allows users to quickly find the information they need. The use of high-quality images and intuitive icons increases the attractiveness of the page. The page is well optimized for viewing on different devices, which ensures comfortable use on both computers and mobile devices.

The HeatPumps online store was successfully developed and implemented on the CMS WordPress platform. In the process, we implemented all the client’s wishes, took into account the need for adaptability, and set up the website as a trading platform.
