Case Study: developing a website for an online store specializing in automatic irrigation systems and equipment

Business niche: automatic irrigation systems: the necessary equipment and related products, sketching services, design, estimation, trade in installation materials, turnkey projects, reconstruction of existing systems, maintenance.

Challenge: development of an online store website with the ability to order goods and pay for them online. The website also offers opportunities to order complex or individual services, a convenient catalog and prices.

Objective: To develop a modern and functional online store on CMS WordPress for the company, create a convenient platform for customers where they can easily find the right products, add them to the cart, choose a convenient delivery method and pay for the order online. And also to familiarize themselves with the company’s possible services.

At the first stage, we analyzed the client’s requirements for the website. The main task was to create a user-friendly platform that would provide a clear picture of the company’s products and services and ensure easy navigation for users. This analysis helped us to understand what elements should be on the main page to achieve the best result.

Development of the main page of the website

The website’s home page presents the company’s main products and services, including water treatment solutions, engineering systems design, and sales of specialized equipment. At the top of the home page is a large banner that informs about the company’s benefits and has two call-to-action buttons: “Learn more” and “Visit the e-shop”.

Immediately after the main banner, users are presented with the main list of irrigation systems, information about the company, and key advantages of cooperation with the company: many years of experience in the field of engineering systems, highly qualified specialists, equipment and installation warranties.

The middle part of the page contains a product catalog, highlighting key products such as a control panel for water purification, valves, sprinklers, nozzles, capillary pipes, tool boxes, and accessories.
There are also separate blocks describing each type of service.
The user can familiarize themselves with the technical characteristics of water treatment systems or go to detailed information about the process of designing systems for different types of facilities. For convenience, it is also possible to apply for a consultation directly from the main page.

At the end of the page, there is a block with contact information: phone numbers, email address, and physical address of the company’s office. Users can also request a consultation or ask a question using the integrated feedback form.

Implementation of the catalog on the website and filtering

The catalog page on the website is designed to be user-friendly and covers a wide range of products for water treatment and engineering systems. The catalog is structured by the main product categories, which allows users to easily navigate the range of specialized equipment.
To simplify the search process and make it as efficient as possible, a filtering system was implemented on the website. Users can filter products by various parameters, such as sorting by popularity, price, rating, and others.

Development of a product page

By selecting the appropriate product model, the price changes, and there is a detailed description that includes key specifications, functionalities, dimensions, and information about the manufacturer. This allows users to familiarize themselves with all aspects of the product before making a purchase.
The description includes high-quality images and videos (in the description) of the device, which helps users to better appreciate its appearance and design features. In addition to the technical specifications, the page also contains product benefits that emphasize its functionality and reliability in operation.

Call-to-action buttons, website forms, and clickable communication elements

To engage customers more actively and focus on important actions on the website, we have implemented the following call-to-action buttons:

  • Go to store: on the home page and in the drop-down menu for easy selection of product categories.
  • Active contacts in the header: clickable direct transitions to messengers: Whatsapp, email, phone number.
  • Contact form for project calculation: At the bottom of the main page, there is a form for quick contact with the company. It is easy to use and requires entering a name, email, and message. The form allows users to quickly contact the team, leave a request, or ask a question.

The website menu was fixed on scrolling for the user’s convenience. This way, all contact information is always visible.

Results of the project development:

The Irrigation Systems website was successfully implemented on the WordPress CMS. An intuitive and functional approach to presenting goods and services has been developed. Each product received a detailed description with technical specifications that allow customers to make an informed choice and easily get additional advice.

The integration of high-quality images and blocks with information about the company’s benefits increases the attractiveness of product pages and promotes better user interaction with the website.
